The Compact Plus is the newest addition to BASI's reformer line, sitting between the Compact Reformer and the full studio frame. It exists because a lot of buyers find the compact a little short and the studio machine a little long.
BASI has not published a dimensional sheet for the line yet. The shipping weight is 209 lb, the frame is the same beech and aircraft-grade aluminium used across the catalogue, and the eight-colour upholstery range applies as usual with Anthracite Grey as the standard finish.
We have chosen to say that plainly rather than borrow numbers from the model next to it. If the dimensions decide your purchase, ask us and we will request the current factory drawing before you order. If you want figures in print today, the Compact Reformer and the Reformer are both fully documented.
What's Included:
- Compact Plus reformer frame with carriage and foot platform
- Shoulder rests, handles, pulleys, ropes and foot strap
- Spring set
- Exact inclusion list confirmed at order, as BASI is still finalising documentation for this new line
Features
A size that did not exist before
BASI added the Compact Plus rather than replacing anything. It is the answer for a room that is too small for a 95.3 in studio frame but big enough to want more than 81.5 in.

Same materials as the studio machines
Solid beech frame, aircraft-grade aluminium track, orthopaedic padding under anti-slip antibacterial vinyl. The compact lines share the build, not just the badge.

Tower upgrade in the same family
The Compact Plus Reformer with Tower is the same frame with the tower, push-through bar and roll down bar fitted, so the repertoire can grow with the room.
Prepared F2 ports
The F2 spring system fits ports built into the frame, which keeps the upgrade path open without a rebuild.
Eight upholstery colours
Anthracite Grey is the standard finish and the fastest to ship. The other seven are made to order at a small premium.
Installation
Part-built in the crate
The frame arrives as one assembly and the loose components go on afterwards: footbar, ropes, pulleys, spring holders and the tower or trapeze structure if your configuration includes one. Ordinary hand tools, and the fixings are packed with it.
Allow the time and the second person
Two to four hours on the larger frames, one to three on a plain reformer, two people throughout. These frames weigh between roughly 150 lb and 330 lb, which is the reason rather than the difficulty of the job.
The route matters more than the room
Delivery is kerbside. Check door widths, the turn at the head of any staircase and your ceiling against the tower or trapeze height in the specification table, before the truck arrives rather than after.
Commission it before you load it
Run the carriage from end to end a few times so the wheels seat, measure both ropes against each other, and confirm the footbar and spring holders lock in every position before you work at full spring load.

Resources
Warranty, Shipping and Returns
The manufacturer's cover is split by material rather than sold as one headline number. Ten years applies to the main wooden frame and structural woodwork. Two years applies to steel and aluminium profiles and components, to F2 hardware, to springs and to plastic parts and fasteners. One year applies to elastomer-coated contact parts, a group that includes the footbar, hand bar, pedals, stoppers, handles and wheels. Ninety days applies to the mat, the upholstery and every fabric accessory. Cover starts on the invoice date, stays with the original purchaser and is not transferable.
Note the maintenance clause attached to it. Springs on spring-loaded apparatus are wear parts, and BASI expects them replaced every two years, or after 3,000 hours of use if that comes sooner.
We ship free anywhere in the United States. Anything crated moves by freight and the carrier will call to book a window with you. Expect a kerbside handover rather than an in-room placement, so line up a second pair of hands and measure the doorways first. Accessories and spare parts go parcel and usually land inside 7 to 10 business days after dispatch.
Check every carton against the paperwork before signing for it. Damage or a missing box must be recorded on the Proof of Delivery there and then, and claimed inside five business days.
Unused equipment can come back within 30 days of delivery in its original packaging. There is no restocking fee, refunds clear within 7 business days of arrival and a cancellation costs nothing while the order is still at the factory.
About BASI Systems
BASI Systems is the manufacturing arm behind BASI Pilates, the teacher training organisation Rael Isacowitz started. Equipment and curriculum are developed together, which is why the catalogue reads as one system rather than a set of separate products. Prepared F2 ports on nearly every apparatus are the clearest sign of it.
The material specification is the same at every price point: beech hardwood frames, aircraft-grade aluminium anywhere something slides or takes load, orthopaedic padding beneath anti-slip antibacterial vinyl. Patent US 10,393,163 B2 protects the spring positioning system.
