The entry point to the BASI reformer line, and the one that fits rooms the studio machine will not. The frame is 81.5 in long against 95.3 in, which is the shortest reformer BASI makes.
What does not change is the construction. Beech wood frame, aircraft-grade aluminium rails for a quiet carriage, orthopaedic padded cushion, antibacterial hospital-grade vinyl. Five springs arrive with it, three red, one yellow and one blue. The VPS pulley system slides to any height along the riser so rope height suits the body rather than the frame.
It suits home practitioners and group studios that want the build quality without the full adjustment stack. If you need the EPS pulley system, gear-staged resistance or the wider 27.5 in carriage, that is the studio Reformer and it is worth the extra floor.

Features
Shortest reformer in the range
81.5 in of frame, 23.6 in wide, 12.8 in high, standing 28.9 in with the riser and footbar. It is the BASI frame that goes into a room the studio machine has to be argued into.

VPS pulley riser
Pulleys set at any height along the riser rather than at fixed stops, so rope height is matched to the person on the carriage.

Four footbar angles, three headrest angles
Enough adjustment for the standard repertoire across different bodies, without the six-position shoulder rests and gear bar of the studio machine.

Studio materials on a home frame
Beech, aircraft-grade aluminium rails, orthopaedic padding and antibacterial hospital-grade vinyl. The carriage runs quietly enough to use in a shared home.

Four F2 ports prepared
Even the entry frame takes the F2 spring system later, which is unusual at this price and keeps the machine useful as practice develops.

Five springs included
Three red, one yellow, one blue. Heavy, light and medium loads from the first session rather than a starter set that needs topping up.

Installation
It arrives part-built
BASI crates its apparatus partly assembled. The frame comes as a unit and you fit the components that ship loose, typically the footbar, ropes, pulleys, spring holders and any tower or trapeze structure supplied with your configuration. Standard hand tools cover it and the fixings are in the box.
Two people, and time
Budget two to four hours for the larger frames and one to three for a plain reformer, with two people throughout. Weight rather than complexity is the reason. These frames run from roughly 150 lb to 330 lb and none of them should be carried alone.
Measure the route, not just the room
Freight arrives kerbside. Before delivery day, check the doorway widths, any turn at the top of a stairwell, and the ceiling height against the tower or trapeze figure in the specification table. Reversing a delivery costs far more than a tape measure.
Bed the machine in before you load it
Once assembled, run the carriage end to end several times to seat the wheels, confirm both ropes are the same length, and check that the footbar and spring holders lock positively in every position before working at full spring load.
Resources
Warranty, Shipping and Returns
Warranty terms come from BASI Systems and are graded by component. The structural woodwork and main frame carry ten years. Metal profiles and components, F2 parts, springs, plastic components and fasteners carry two years. Elastomer-coated parts such as the footbar, hand bar, pedals, stoppers, handles and wheels carry one year. Mats, upholstered surfaces and fabric accessories carry ninety days. The clock starts at the invoice date and the cover follows the original purchaser rather than the apparatus.
There is also a spring replacement requirement. On spring-loaded apparatus, springs are to be changed every two years or at 3,000 hours of use, whichever is reached first.
United States orders ship free. Crated apparatus goes on a freight truck with a phone call ahead to arrange the window, and the driver unloads at the kerb rather than carrying it in, so arrange help and check your access route in advance. Parcel-sized items generally arrive 7 to 10 business days after dispatch.
Do the inspection before you sign the Proof of Delivery. Anything damaged or missing has to be written on that document at delivery and claimed within five business days for the manufacturer to accept liability.
Returns are accepted for 30 days from delivery on unused equipment in its original packaging, with no restocking fee and refunds processed within 7 business days. Cancelling before the apparatus leaves the factory costs nothing.
About BASI Systems
The range is made by BASI Systems for BASI Pilates, founded by Rael Isacowitz, and the apparatus is designed against the repertoire it teaches rather than the other way round. That shows up in the upgrade paths: four prepared F2 ports on most of the catalogue, tower and trapeze conversions on the reformer frames, three extension leg heights shared across five apparatus.
Build is consistent throughout. Solid beech, aircraft-grade aluminium track and hardware, orthopaedic cushioning under antibacterial vinyl. The Wunda Chair holds an A Design Award and the spring positioning system is patented.
