An A Design Award winner, and the most compact resistance apparatus BASI makes. The frame takes 35.5 in by 21.7 in of floor, which is less than any reformer, barrel or tower in the range.
The mechanism is what earned the award. Spring tension changes between settings without unhooking a spring, so resistance can be altered inside a sequence rather than between them. The pedal is a rounded, ergonomic split design, and the removable handles lock at four heights spaced every 2.56 in, adjusting overall handle height from 46.2 in to 55.6 in.
Chair repertoire asks more of a practitioner than reformer basics. If you are new to it, learn the exercises with an instructor before working alone. Prepared ports accept the F2 System for spring work beyond the pedal.

Features
Resistance changes without unhooking springs
The award-winning part. Spring tension moves between settings through the mechanism, so you are not stopping a sequence to rehook a spring while a client waits.

Rounded split pedal
The ergonomic shape gives a consistent, broad range of motion, and the split allows single-leg and alternating work that a solid pedal cannot.

Handles that lock at four heights
Spaced every 2.56 in, giving an overall handle height from 46.2 in to 55.6 in. Removable, so the chair reverts to a plain pedal apparatus in seconds.

Smallest footprint in the range
35.5 in by 21.7 in on the frame, 38.5 in by 28.9 in with handles and wheels fitted. This is the BASI apparatus that fits a corner.

Four springs, two weights
Two yellow and two black arrive with the chair, which covers the published repertoire before any F2 addition.

Silicone wheels
At 88 lb the chair is liftable by two people, but the wheels mean you rarely need to. Tilt and roll it out of the way between sessions.

Installation
Part-built in the crate
The frame arrives as one assembly and the loose components go on afterwards: footbar, ropes, pulleys, spring holders and the tower or trapeze structure if your configuration includes one. Ordinary hand tools, and the fixings are packed with it.
Allow the time and the second person
Two to four hours on the larger frames, one to three on a plain reformer, two people throughout. These frames weigh between roughly 150 lb and 330 lb, which is the reason rather than the difficulty of the job.
The route matters more than the room
Delivery is kerbside. Check door widths, the turn at the head of any staircase and your ceiling against the tower or trapeze height in the specification table, before the truck arrives rather than after.
Commission it before you load it
Run the carriage from end to end a few times so the wheels seat, measure both ropes against each other, and confirm the footbar and spring holders lock in every position before you work at full spring load.
Resources
Warranty, Shipping and Returns
The published terms from BASI Systems are tiered. Ten years on main wooden frames and structural wood components. Two years on steel and aluminium profiles and components, on F2 systems, on springs and on plastic components and fasteners. One year on elastomer-coated parts, a list that includes the footbar, hand bar, pedals, stoppers, handles and wheels. Ninety days on the Pilates mat, on upholstered parts and on all fabric accessories. Cover runs from the invoice date, sits with the original purchaser and is not transferable.
One clause is a maintenance requirement rather than an exclusion: springs on spring-loaded apparatus are to be replaced every two years or after 3,000 hours of use, whichever comes first.
We do not charge for shipping within the United States. Anything crated goes freight, the carrier calls to book the window, and the handover is at the kerb, so line up help and measure your access route before the day. Parcel items typically arrive 7 to 10 business days after dispatch.
Look at every carton before you sign the Proof of Delivery. Damage and missing boxes have to be recorded on that document at delivery, and claimed within five business days, for BASI to accept liability.
You have 30 days from delivery to send unused equipment back in its original packaging. There is no restocking fee, refunds are processed within 7 business days of the return reaching us, and cancelling costs nothing until the apparatus leaves the factory.
About BASI Systems
The BASI Systems range comes out of BASI Pilates, the education organisation founded by Rael Isacowitz, and the equipment is engineered against the repertoire it is used to teach. The clearest example is the F2 System. Nearly every apparatus in the catalogue leaves the factory with prepared ports for it, so a studio can add spring work to a barrel, a chair or a spine corrector years after buying it.
Construction is consistent across the line: beech hardwood frames, aircraft-grade aluminium tracks and hardware, orthopaedic cushioning and antibacterial vinyl on every padded surface. BASI holds US patent 10,393,163 B2 on its spring positioning system, and an A Design Award for the Wunda Chair.
